Congratulations to Lea Primary School for issuing letters and Sun Safety leaflets to the parents / guardians of all of their children. Lea Primary School have also pledged to make sure that all children have access to Sun Hats & Sunscreen and that all teachers at the school will be good role models with regard to sun safety.
“Lea Primary School are committed to the Sun Safe scheme and have ensured that all children have access to their sun hats and sun screen at all times. We have put our UV dial in the playground to ensure that we can monitor the strength of the UV rays and can apply sun screen.”

“We have two main areas for shade in addition to any tree shade. One is for Infants and one for juniors. The new junior canopy has just been completed and is 10m x 5m in size.”

“We have several areas of shade in our playground. We have two playhouses, a large outdoor classroom, a small gazebo, shade from trees and a willow tunnel. The children are encouraged to use these at playtime and lunchtime. ”

“We will ensure that children at Lons Infant School are wearing sunscreen and that sunhats are worn. We will provide sunhats for children who have not brought them into school. Sunscreen is available to all children within each classroom in the form of a dispenser. ”
