Congratulations to Dove Holes Ce Primary School who have just renewed their Sun Safe Schools Accreditation.

Skcin are pleased to announce that Dove Holes Ce Primary School in Greater Manchester have renewed their Sun Safe Schools Accreditation. The accreditation has been awarded to the school as they have completed the necessary steps to ensure their pupils and employees are educated on the importance of sun safety and that a suitable sun safe environment and policy is put in place and reviewed annually.

“Sun safe letters were sent to parents together with the booklet. All pupils are asked to bring a hat to school to ensure their heads are covered when the weather is hot. This request goes out at the beginning of each academic year. We hold a box of spare hats for any child who has forgotten their hat. Children are not allowed out in the hot midday sun unless their head are covered. Children returned the consent forms for sun cream. Some parents did a skin patch test to ensure their children could safely used the cream. Each day the clock was checked and a sign put up in the corridor whether sun cream was needed.”
