Congratulations to Herbert Strutt Primary School for issuing letters and Sun Safety leaflets to the parents / guardians of all of their children. Herbert Strutt Primary School have also pledged to make sure that all children have access to Sun Hats & Sunscreen and that all teachers at the school will be good role models with regard to sun safety.
“Sun safe letters were sent to parents together with the booklet. All pupils are asked to bring a hat to school to ensure their heads are covered when the weather is hot. This request goes out at the beginning of each academic year. We hold a box of spare hats for any child who has forgotten their hat. Children are not allowed out in the hot midday sun unless their head are covered. Children returned the consent forms for sun cream. Some parents did a skin patch test to ensure their children could safely used the cream. Each day the clock was checked and a sign put up in the corridor whether sun cream was needed.”
“All staff have been made aware of their duty as role models and ensure sun safety is carried out within the school”
