“The entire Academy enjoyed a very special Sun Safety Day, beginning with a whole school assembly which used and adapted the introductory assembly plan offered. All of the children found out about Mr P's trusty 'Sun Safety' bag which he takes everywhere with him during sunny times of the year! The children learnt that, just like George the Sunsafe Superstar, to SLIP (a t-shirt on), SLOP (some sun lotion on), SLAP (a sun hat on), wear some SUNGLASSES to protect their eyes and find some SHADE! Children joined in with the assembly and wore props to support the message. The feature of a large inflatable sun was very engaging for the younger pupils. The assembly and day's learning was shared with parents through our Academy website:
